This will be the cover of Felidi Issue #1 Really having a blast with this thus far. I feel I suck at everything detail but I'm ok at eyes. (my saving grace! woohoo) ================= (original text) Sketching cat eyes is great fun, especially when you spend all day on commissions, tests and a soon to be 6 page rough draft to be handed in on monday. To me the time was an excuse for not putting more details like the other half of the face. But I guess I should use the scraps button more often, though I tend to put things that are anatomically wrong in scraps regardless of time spent. A sketch can sometimes look better than a polished piece.
As for how, to be honest, a lot of practice to an obsession. For one pic that looks all right there are dozens that don't pass the radar.
And eyes were always something I wanted to get better at. After some time I knew what a cat eye looked like. Give me a dog or human eye though and I need the references.
