Spent most of today on this tutorial for a friend and fellow cat lover, John Prengaman with a really spiffy big cat comic! [link]

But hopefully this will benefit everyone trying to understand how to translate pencil work to digital line work. It's quite a bit of work, but once you understand it, it's a breeze :)

I always just paint out any scanner crud and throw the lines on a Multiply layer, but I could just be a glutton for punishment. I too would rather "ink" with pencil than in Photoshop... the drawing tends to lose some life if I ink digitally.

It's always cool to see how other people work, thanks for sharing. :)

OMG it works!!!! I can't believe how awesome this is, I think I'm going to do this a lot from now on. Thankyouuuuu! When I'm done the picture I started using this tutorial, I'll put a link to you and the tutorial in the credits. This makes life sooo much easier. :love:
